How we choose
We want these to be recommendations you can use: Where we’d start, why we’d go and what to check before leaving. We begin with Missouri’s operating dispensaries, then look at what makes each store useful for the kind of shopping you have in mind.
First, we check Missouri’s Verified Dispensary Locator for an operating storefront. Holding a license is only part of the picture: A store needs to be open. This directory covers dispensaries, so smoke shops, hemp stores, delivery-only sellers and unopened locations don’t qualify.
We look at the store’s own location page and ordering menu for addresses, hours, contact details, offers and pickup options. Other directories can help us cross-check a detail, but we go back to the business when the records disagree.
A late-night pickup and a first visit need different recommendations. For one, the drive-thru schedule may decide it. For the other, clear guidance matters more. Product guides focus on the relevant menu, while price guides look at the offers and rewards a shopper could actually use.
We include review dates so you know how old the information is. Menus, offers and hours can change between checks, so confirm anything that would make or break your trip.
Why the lists differ
The store we’d choose for flower may be different from the one we’d suggest after a late shift. Each guide answers its own shopping question and gives you five places to consider. These are our recommendations, based on public store information; we don’t present them as reports of in-person visits or product tests.

We write for people across the Kansas City metro, but all the dispensaries we list are on the Missouri side. Kansas has no state-licensed medical or recreational dispensaries. Never take marijuana across the state line.
